We are happy that Louise Murray http://www.louisemurray.com/home.html , international well known photojournalist, diver, underwater photograph, an arctic expedition leader, will be one of the lecturer. She came in tough with me since she admired the strong red fluorescence beside the usual yellow and green, which was so far unique with this technique.
This movie shows important clips about coral diseases (few examples only). This analysis with HiTec High Power fluorecence torches during night dives is a valuable tool and addition to worldwide Reef Check (day) activities, which demonstrate the tremendous reduction of vital coral reefs. The results could be the basis for responsible persons in politics (especially local government), industry and science to protect this labile ecosystem and to provide rules and conditions for sustainability. Since the construction and further development of HiTec fluorescence torches is very expensive, we would highly appreciate a financial support especially for scientific use. The analysis of coral reefs could help to conserve this outstanding ecosystem, the "rain forest of the sea", which should be considered as one of the most important World Natural Heritage of Mankind. Further readings about corals and why they show rainbow-like colors under fluorescence you will find on my homepage pdf files in German and English. The night dives in Dahab were performed in cooperation with the RSEC (Christian von Mach and Nina Milton) and Sinai Divers Backpackers.
